Meet The Mentor

Chieuanh Nguyen joined the Maker Jawn family in January of 2016. She graduated from Dickinson College with a major in Biology and minor in East Asian Studies. If you want to learn about the biological processes of animals and/or humans, global healthcare assignment writing service https://essaysworld.net/global-healthcare-assignment-writing will help you with that. She speaks both conversational Vietnamese and Japanese. During high school, she was in a robotic club for two years, where she participated in the SeaPerch Challenge at Drexel University. She also interned at NextFab Studio, where she worked with a 3D printer called Makerbot Cupcake CNC. Chieuanh now spent most of her time working with the Free Library of Philadelphia as a Maker Mentor, ESL teacher, and Citizenship Test tutor. Her favorite pastime is making homemade gifts for her friends and family with DIY projects inspired from Youtube and Pinterest.

Saying Farewell

I am sad to say that I will be leaving Maker Jawn by the end of summer. The Maker Jawn Initiative is very special to me in so many ways. It gave me a purpose after college, and it was also the first job I got on my own. I met so many different type of people from various communities, and in which was one of my own. I used to grew up in Kensington until I was seven years old. I do not have much fond memories, but working with the Kensington Neighborhood Library sure made up for it by giving me many new and meaningful memories with the people there. I am sad to leave behind the coolest boss ever, the most supportive staff team ever, and the most interesting Makers ever. Maker Jawn is truly an awesome program, and an asset for the communities that we work with. I hope that they could expand their programming and resources to all of the libraries through the Free Library of Philadelphia one day. I wish for nothing but the best to my boss (who recently had an adorable baby girl), and my fellow colleagues (who are now as dear to me as my closet friends). As a floater mentor and office manager, I know just how wonderful these mentors are, as they serve as role models and inspirations to everyone that they meet. I will always remember the staff meetings, TheLabs in Pittsburgh, Maker Faire in Washington D.C.,  monthly Maker Celebrations, and South Philadelphia Library Grand Opening. I am so glad to be working with the team that I had. For that, I would like to say, thank you so much for everything! Please keep doing what you do best!!!
