Summer Programming
There are many, new changes to the Maker Jawn programming to accompany the summer schedule. This include no programming on Fridays and Saturdays. The time have also changed to 1:00-4:00pm instead of the usual 3:00-6:00pm. Unfortunately, since there are no Saturday programming, there will be no Maker Celebration during the summer. There are also many positive and exciting things this summer as well.

BADGING!
“A badge is a symbol of achievement, like a medal or a trophy. Everything that a Maker learns and creates when they enter a library or similar Makerspace is worthy of a badge. No matter how small, these projects are considered accomplishments, and Makers should have their achievements recognized. [They may also earned prizes for their achievements at the end of summer.]
Maker Jawn awards digital badges because an online platform helps both to motivate interest-based programming and to promote communication and collaboration between Makers, their Mentors, and the Makerspaces themselves. The Maker Jawn Badging website acts as a social network, where, in addition to badge-earning, Makers can talk to their peers and Mentors, post photos and videos of their work, and link external project sources, among other things. Additionally, as Makers grow and progress through the program and their school years, they will gradually build an online portfolio that showcases both their projects and their learning potential.”
